Portraits

Using paint to slowly capture a fleeting instant in someone’s life is a little mystical. I work slowly, creating multiple studies and sketches until I’m ready to start the final portrait. Deep in the painting, a magical moment happens: the subject comes to life on the canvas. It’s fantastic. Of course, sometimes this doesn’t happen, and I have to start over. It’s all fun. I keep going until I get it right.

Each project is a collaboration and I’m happy to explore ideas with you. Pricing and time to complete vary with size and complexity. References available on request.
